If you want your website to store data from a database and display the data in a database, your Web server must be able to use the SQL language to access the database system.

If your Web server is hosted Internet service provider (ISP, stands for Internet Service Provider), you must find the SQL host program.

The most common SQL master database is MySQL, MS SQL Server and MS Access.

You can run SQL Host Database on Windows and Linux / UNIX operating systems.

Here is an overview of the corresponding operating system running on the database system.

MS SQL Server

Only runs on Windows OS.

MySQL

Runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux / UNIX operating systems.

MS Access (only recommended for small sites)

Only runs on Windows OS.
