ANSI (Windows-1252)
ANSI are Windows 95 and Windows systems prior to the default character set.
ANSI is also known as Windows-1252.
important hint
ANSI and ISO-8859-1 is very similar, the only difference is in the 32 characters.
In ANSI, and from 128 to 159 characters for some useful characters, such as the Euro symbol.
In ISO-8859-1, these characters are mapped to HTML does not work in the control characters.
Many Web developers declaration ISO-8859-1, and use these 32 values as if they were using Windows-1252.
Because of this common misconception, when ISO-8859-1 is declared, the browser will be changed to Windows-1252. This applies to the following document types: HTML4, HTML5 and XHTML.
ANSI and ASCII
ANSI first portion (entity number 0-127) is the original ASCII character set. It contains numerals, capital letters and special characters.

ANSI control characters
ANSI control characters (00-31, plus 127) was originally designed to control hardware devices such as printers and tape drives and the like.
Control characters (except horizontal tab, line feed, carriage outside) has no effect in an HTML document.
